An oscillator and a method for compensation thereof are provided to perform oscillation by setting capacitance of a capacitor part according to the present state on the ground of capacitance data of an ideal capacitor part according to the variation of temperature and power supply voltage. An oscillator(100) includes a data storing part(150). An oscillation part(120) outputs an oscillation signal varying according to a control code inputted from the outside. A control part(160) finds out a control code for outputting a target oscillation signal by inputting a number of control codes to the oscillation part under an environmental condition, and stores a plurality of condition codes in the data storing part in correspondence to the condition codes indicating the environmental condition, and calculates a control code corresponding to the present condition using the stored condition codes and the corresponding control code, and then inputs the calculated control code into the oscillation part.
