A solenoid valve is provided to improve responsiveness in opening and closing the valve, to regulate flow accurately, and to decrease noise and vibration by removing resistance against motion of a plunger from negative pressure and reducing impact noise of the plunger. A solenoid valve(1) moves fluid from an inlet port(10a) to an outlet port(10b) by moving a plunger(12) formed in a valve body(10) with magnetic force in applying power to a coil, and includes plural pressure balance holes(12a) axially formed in the plunger and a diaphragm(14) formed radially in an outer periphery of the plunger to form chambers(16) in upper and lower parts. The pressure balance holes are spaced from an axis of the plunger and arranged radially. A center of the diaphragm is recessed radially, and the diaphragm is fixed to an insertion groove formed circumferentially in the outer periphery of the plunger. Flow of the solenoid valve is accurately regulated by reciprocating the plunger according to electromotive force of the coil, and noise is reduced in bumping the plunger into the valve body by mounting a spring(18) in the upper part of the plunger.
