<p>The present invention concerns an inductive presence, proximity or position sensor comprising an inductive coil defining a working or active face of the sensor corresponding to the external face of a covering plate or a substantially plane part of the housing or casing containing said coil, said plate or plane part being made of a metal with high mechanical resistance and being disposed substantially perpendicularly to the coil axis.
