The reed (2) contains slats (5) which have a stop side for beating the weft yarns, a profiled front side, a rear upper part of the slat and a part behind the stop side which is wider than this rear upper part. A reed for a weaving loom comprises profiled slats arranged according to a pattern so that a number of slats (4) form a guide channel (13) for the fluid used to transport the weft yarn (30). A number of slats have a stop side for beating the weft yarns and a profiled front side extending from the stop side in the rear direction to a rear upper part of the slat. A part of the slat behind the stop side has a width which is larger than that of the rear upper part. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) Slat for use in the reed, having the above stop side, profiled front side and upper rear part configuration; (B) Method for producing the reed by arranging profiled slats according to a pattern; and (C) Weaving loom containing this reed. |
