A power inlet socket for preventing lightening strikes is provided to prevent electronic components on a board from being damaged and stably secure the durability and reliability of the power inlet socket when a large current caused by lightening strikes is inputted to the power inlet socket. A power inlet socket(100) includes a socket body having a ground terminal(113), a live terminal(111) and a neutral terminal(112). The ground terminal is connected to ground. The live terminal and the neutral terminal are respectively arranged at both sides of the ground terminal and receive external power. A current-absorbing part is located at the portion where the live terminal and the ground terminal face each other and the portion where the neutral terminal and the ground terminal face each other. The current-absorbing part absorbs a current caused by spark discharge when a large current due to lightening strikes is applied to the socket.
