A method and a device for controlling a digital device by adjusting a critical event occurring value are provided to reflect manipulation property of a user by calculating a moving input speed and an average moving speed of the user moving a sensor part including multiple units, and controlling the critical event occurring value of the digital device with the calculated speeds. A database(701) stores the average moving speed information of the moving touch and critical event occurring value information matched with the average moving speed information. The critical event occurring value information is related to sensor touch information for generating a specific event in the digital device. The sensor part(702) generates the touch information by detecting the moving touch of the user for more than one unit among multiple units separated at intervals and records the touch information to the database. An average moving speed calculator(703) calculates the average moving speed of the moving touch based on the touch information. A reader(704) reads the critical event occurring value information matched with the calculated average moving speed by referring to the database.
