A liquid crystal display device(LCD) and a driving method thereof are provided to effectively remove a horizontal crosstalk during a 2 dot by 2 vertical line inversion driving by supplying a common voltage according to the sum of polarities of line-based video signals. A liquid crystal display device includes an LCD panel(20), a gate driver(60), a data driver(40), a timing controller(80), a line memory(200), and a common voltage generator(100). Pixels are formed on the intersections between gate and data lines on the LCD panel. The gate driver supplies a scan signal to the gate lines. The data driver converts image data to a video signal, and supplies the result to the data lines. The timing controller supplies a control signal to the gate and data drivers. The line memory stores line-based video signals. The common voltage generator generates a common voltage according to the sum of polarities of the line-based video signals from the line memory, and supplies the common voltage to the LCD panel.
