A liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof are provided to accurately control a gamma voltage by using a DAC(Digital to Analog Converter) installed inside or outside a timing controller. A liquid crystal display device includes a timing controller(110) and a DAC(108). The timing controller includes a gamma voltage controller(111), which generates a digital gamma signal synchronously with a predetermined clock signal. The DAC converts the digital gamma signal to an analog gamma voltage. The gamma voltage controller includes a counter, a data output unit, and a data enable signal generator. The counter generates a timing signal synchronously with the clock signal. The data output unit generates a 16-bit digital signal, which has logic 0 or 1 value during a high interval of the timing signal. The data enable signal generator generates a data enable signal for controlling the period of the digital signal from the data output unit synchronously with the clock signal.
