PURPOSE: To provide a lightweight steering wheel having small rotational inertia and high strength. CONSTITUTION: A frame comprises a tubular edge portion 1 (a circular rim) so that this is joined to a molded light metal hub 16 fixed to a steering shaft by a plurality of radial directional arms 6, 7, 8, 9. The frame is composed of two portions 2, 4 whose respective ones are composed of a portion to form the tubular edge portion 1 and a portion to form the arms. The arms are inwardly and downwardly bent at both ends of the tubular edge portion 1 so as to form spokes of a steering wheel, the end portions have a portion extending in the shaft direction, and this portion is molded in a boss 14 of the hub 16. |
