A closed-circuit camera having a position data backup function and a maintenance method according to the same are provided to receive data without resetting various reference data set up for tracking motion while a maintenance work of a closed circuit is performed and simply reset a maintained new device by using the received data. An image recognizing unit(12) recognizes an image acquired through an image pickup unit(11) for acquiring an image of a monitoring region, and processes the recognized image. A zoom control unit(14) controls the image recognizing unit(12), and zooms in/out the image acquired through the image pickup unit(11). A data transmitting and receiving unit(15) transmits the image for the monitoring region recognized and processed through the image recognizing unit(12) to a central control center. The data transmitting and receiving unit(15) receives control signals according to the change of the monitoring region requested by the central control center, and provides the received control signals to various control units. A data storing unit(13) stores various data for normally performing the operation of components. A slot(203) mounts and demounts a movable backup data storing unit(202) in and from a camera body(210). A data sharing unit(201) mutually shares data between the backup data storing unit(202) safely received in the slot(203) and electrically connected to the slot(203) and the data storing unit(13). The data sharing unit(201) copies the data stored in the data storing unit(13) in the backup data storing unit(202), or copies and moves the data stored in the backup data storing unit(202) in the data storing unit(13) when it is necessary.
