The unit has a multipart layer structure with an outer decorative layer (11), a plastic foam layer (12) and a lower barrier layer (13). The decorative layer and the foam layer are fastened together by flame lamination, where the lower barrier layer is made up of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) foam with a high temperature stability of 200 degree Celsius, preferably 240 degree Celsius. The barrier layer has a high temperature at a heat reservoir so that the barrier layer connects on the foam layer during pressing of the barrier layer on the foam layer.
