The synchronous electromechanical converter operates as a drive or generator. It features high specific resistivity and high energy efficiency. The electromagnetic poles featuring magnetically permeable cores are distributed in compact groups of at least two poles so that the poles of each individual group belong to the same electrical phase, while the adjacent poles of each group are staggered by 180 degrees regarding the electrical phase. Close to the magnetic gap the pole cores extend perpendicularly to the rotor rotation direction so that they are of almost equal size as the magnet poles and are in this direction almost levelled with them. The individual coil winding of the group conveys at least a part of the magnetic flux of at least every other pole of the group. For multi-phase versions the rotor features a different number of poles compared to the stator, while in the single-phase version this number is equal. The converter includes one or more rotors and one or more stators. The converter features a radial, axial and linear version.
|
