<p>Films are sealed between a sealing roll(6) and a heating roll(1), movement of the latter towards the former being produced through a linear guide(2). Pressure is exerted on the heating roll by a drive system(8,8.1,8.2) acting through the linear guide, the pressure being directed normal to the line contact between both rolls. A swiveling bearing between the heating roll(1) and the linear guide(2) compensates for small movements of the heating roll about an imaginary axis(7) between both rolls(1,6) and comprises a circular arc guide(4) and/or one or more bearing rollers(5). A central bearing roller(5) engages with one side of the guide and two further bearing rollers engage with the opposite side. Bearing rollers(5) are mounted in a housing onto which pressure is applied by a servomotor(8) which rotates a spindle(8.1) pressing a nut(8.2) onto a spring. The spring is connected to the linear guide and forms a cardan type joint relative to the nut.</p> |
