<p>The invention relates to a safety razor blade assembly for a razor, having optimized shape and dimensions for body shaving, especially in the regions of the axillae. According to the invention, the razor blade assembly comprises at least one elongate razor blade (15) having a rectilinear sharpened edge and being mounted in an effectively non-flexible support within an opening (2), the skin contacting surface surrounding the edge(s) of the razor blade including the opposite sides of the opening (2), a guard surface (3) and a cap surface (4), the aspect ratio between the length and the width of the skin contact surface ranging between 1 and 4, as it is shown in the cross section, in a plane normal to the edge(s) of the razor blade (15), the skin contact surface being convex. The total length of the razor blade assembly at the skin contact surface is not greater than 60 mm, the skin contact surface having a circumscribing perimeter accomodating a footprint area of at least 450 mm2, the circumscribing perimeter being so configured that the area accomodated by the said perimeter has a circularity which is not less than (a) the lower circularity of 65% and (b) the circularity of a substantially rectangular area having the same length and width as the footprint area of the skin contact surface and having corner radii of 30% of the width, the edge adjycent to the guard surface (3) of the razor blade assembly being free of acute angled corners.</p> |
