<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology that makes the best use of characteristics of charcoal at the maximum and positively improves flavor in cooking such as rice cooking, etc., and cooking efficiency while turning properties of far-infrared radiation of a natural ore such as Takachihobikouseki (ore called tuffaceous sandstone produced in Takachiho in Miyazaki Prefecture) to practical use. <P>SOLUTION: The nice taste activating device is produced by pulverizing Takachihobikouseki (1) or another natural ore (2) radiating strong far-infrared radiation to give a raw material, forming a charcoal container (4) equipped with vent holes (3) and a lid (5) that is attached to the charcoal container and equipped with vent holes (3) by ceramic processing and packing charcoal (8) of simple substance or a charcoal-containing nonwoven fabric bag (6) to the container. Otherwise, the nice taste activating device is produced by ceramic processing using a clay mineral as a raw material for the charcoal container (4) and the lid (5).
