PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel dental lighting system and an instrument for dental clinical use capable of automatically adjusting the intensity of the illumination light as well as the illumination of an excitation light. SOLUTION: This lighting system 5 illuminating the buccal cavity of a patient is provided with an illumination light illumination means 80, an illumination light intensity control part 8b, an excitation light illumination means 90 radiating a fluorescence from a non-healthy part in the buccal cavity, a detection control part 9b detecting the state of the excitation light illumination means 90, and a signal output part 9c outputting a signal to the illumination light intensity control part based on state detection information of the detection control part 9b. The illumination light intensity control part 8b is characterized in adjusting the intensity of the illumination light based on the output signal from the signal output part 9c.
