An assembly joins two sections of pipe by reaming with a rotating roller or rotating workpiece. The assembly has a reaming head (1) whose position may be altered along its axis of rotation (17). The reaming head has a roller (3) whose position is radially adjustable with respect to the axis (17) and moves along the inner face of the inner pipe. The reaming head further has one or more support fixtures (7) that absorbs the forces exerted between the roller (3) and pipe (2) inner face. The supports (7) are arranged symmetrically with respect to the roller (3) and the pipe (2) rotational axis (17).
