PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of driving auxiliaries attached to a cylinder block side, in an internal combustion engine with a variable compression ratio mechanism. SOLUTION: A first gear 9, attached to the crankcase 5 side, rotating in synchronization with rotation of a crankshaft 7, a second gear 11, attached to the cylinder block 4 side, meshing with the first gear 9 and the auxiliaries 13, 16, 17 are provided in the internal combustion engine 1 with the variable compression ratio mechanism 100 for changing compression ratio by changing relative distance of the cylinder block 4 and a crankcase 5.
