<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator material for a fuel cell with high conductivity and excellent strength, and its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: A silane coupling agent is coated on graphite powder by surface treatment of the graphite powder by a solution in which the silane coupling agent is dissolved in an organic solvent, and the graphite powder is mixed and kneaded with a thermosetting resin solution, then the kneaded object is dried and pulverized to form molded powder, and then, the molded powder is filled in a die engraving a groove and crest part to form a gas passage, and hot-press molded. The coated amount of the silane coupling agent is 0.1-5 pts. weight to 100 pts. weight of the graphite powder.
