PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attempt recycle of glass substrates by separating a plasma display into the plasma display panel and a chassis member without damage of the glass substrate. SOLUTION: A method of dismantling plasma displays is employed in dismantling a plasma display which comprises a plasma display panel consisting of a front surface plate 20 having a scanning electrode and a sustain electrode on a front surface glass substrate 21 and a back surface plate 30 having an address electrode on a back surface glass substrate, sealed together with a sealing member 50, a chassis member joined through a joining member of the back surface plate 30 and a resin layer 57 covering the terminal parts for connecting individual electrodes with the external. At least the part of the front surface glass substrate 21 in the unsealed area 61 outside the area of the sealing member 50 where the front surface plate 20 and the back surface plate 30 are superimposed is cut and removed, and the plasma display is heated to separate into the plasma display panel and the chassis member.
