PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting ball for ball games which can bear practical use even though it is hit by the hand, kicked by the foot or made to collide with a wall. SOLUTION: The ball has a structure comprising a surface layer formed by sewing a plurality of surface pieces each made of a skin and a reinforcing layer and a tube held inside of the surface layer. A plurality of light-transmissive and elastic light emitting body fitting members each comprising an light emitting body panel section and an light emitting body retaining section are installed with exposing the light emitting body panel sections from the surface of the ball and sandwiching the outer periphery of the light emitting body fitting section with a diameter larger than that of the light emitting body panel section between the reinforcing layer and the tube. The light emitting body comprising an LED, a power source and a switch can be removably inserted into the light emitting body retaining section through an light emitting body insertion hole in the surface of the light emitting body panel.
