PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pretreatment device for protein crystallization, using electrostatic transportation, capable of well retaining and storing a sample liquid drop obtained by colliding by the electrostatic transportation so as to combine, and to provide a method thereby. SOLUTION: The pretreatment device for protein crystallization, using electrostatic transportation, has an electrostatic transportation means comprising an electrode for generating static electricity, an electrically insulating hydrophobic layer set on the electrode for generating static electricity, an inactive solvent layer set on the electrically insulating hydrophobic layer, and is equipped with multiple hydrophilic spots comprising a hydrophilic film and set on the electrically insulating hydrophobic layer, wherein droplets of the reagent required for crystallizing protein and droplets of a protein solution are dropped on the electrically insulating hydrophobic layer, then these droplets are combined by electrostatic transportation and then the combined droplets are electrostatically transported to the hydrophilic spots and held on the hydrophilic spots.
