PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique by which irregular brightness is reduced when arranging a branching optical system in an observation optical system. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is equipped with: an imaging part; the observation optical system; a non-polarizing beam splitter; and a light detection part. The imaging part picks up the image of field. The observation optical system forms the field image of a subject. The non-polarizing beam splitter is arranged in the optical path of the observation optical system and branches luminous flux to reflected light and transmitted light. The imaging apparatus is equipped with the light detection part arranged in one of branched optical paths by the non-polarizing beam splitter and detecting the branched light.
