PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile server capable of transmitting transmission guide data only. SOLUTION: The facsimile server 1 is provided with an original manuscript selection receiving means that receives the selection of image data to be transmitted from among the image data of the stored original manuscripts from clients 11, 12; a means that prepares the transmission guide data generated by converting the document data received from the clients 11, 12 to the image data on the basis of a prescribed form; and a means that transmits the image data of the selected original manuscript after adding the transmission guide data to them when a transmission start command is issued after the original manuscript selection receiving means receives the selection, and transmits only the transmission guide data when the transmission start command is issued while the original manuscript selection receiving means does not receive the selection.
