PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exterior wall structure for finishing an exterior wall by spreading an external facing plate material, which enables water sealing treatment to be simply and efficiently applied to a joint between the external facing plate materials, and which makes a watertight function hardly deteriorate with age. SOLUTION: This exterior wall structure of a building comprises: a backing member 14 which is arranged on an outdoor-side surface; the plurality of external facing plate materials 20 which are arranged on the surface of the backing member 14 in such a manner that mutual ends adjoin each other; a water sealing space 26 which is constituted on the backside of the external facing plate material 20 between the ends of the external facing plate materials 20 on both sides and the surface of the backing member 14 in the adjacent places of the ends of the external facing plate materials 20; an extended clearance 28 which is constituted between the external facing plate materials 20 and 20 on both the sides, one end of which communicates with the water sealing space 26, and the other end of which is opened to the outside; and a watertight material 30 which is infilled into the water sealing space 26, and which is arranged in the state of partially protruding into the extended clearance 28.
