PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing torque increase and noise due to frictional resistance, suppressing the deterioration of picture quality due to uneven electric resistance and preventing the generation of quality deterioration by regulating a transfer nip in detail. SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus comprising an image carrier for carrying a toner image, a recording medium carrier for carrying a recording medium and a transfer means for transferring the toner image formed on the image carrier to the recording medium carried by the recording medium carrier; the transfer means uses fluid.
