The method involves producing RFID chips or RFID transponders as a single RFID label together with antennas which are functionally associated with the RFID chips. The RFID chips or RFID transponders can be attached to a packaging using corresponding devices during production of the printed material, during subsequent treatment or finishing process of the printed material, during preparation of the packaging, during the production of the packaging or during the filling of the packaging. During attachment, the RFID chips or RFID transponders can be tested and initialized. An independent claim is included for the packaging with attached RFID chips or RFID transponder.
