<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable simple installation, and to inexpensively grasp the number of persons who stop on a spot by being interested in merchandise or the like. <P>SOLUTION: This device for counting the number of persons who stop is provided with a means 25 for storing data of the number of persons who stop, passive type infrared human body sensors 15a to 15e arrayed almost in a horizontal row with respect to a plurality of horizontal directions for detecting the approach of persons by detecting an infrared ray emitted from a human body, a stay period counting means 41 for counting a stay period since a detection signal is outputted from the infrared human body sensor 15a or 15e at either of end positions until the detection signal is outputted from the infrared human body sensor 15a or 15e at either of end positions again based on detection signals outputted from the infrared human body sensors 15a to 15e, an addition updating means 41 for adding 1 to the data of the number of persons who stop for updating when the counted stay period is not shorter than a predetermined stop determination period and power supply means 26 and 42 for supplying power necessary for the operation of the device from charged power. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
