PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an optical pickup. SOLUTION: The optical integrated element 7 includes a package 11 having a housing part 11A for housing a light emitting element 21 for emitting an optical beam, a plurality of electrodes 11D disposed in one surface 11C of the package 11 and connected to at least the terminal of the light emitting element 21, and a sealing means 25 for sealing the opened part of the hosing part 11A opened in one surface 11C of the package 11. The surface of the sealing means 25 is formed roughly on the same plane as that of the surface of the electrode 11D, and thus a flexible substrate 16 connected to the electrode 11D is attached by being directly bonded to the package 11.
