PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary device for an automatic photographing apparatus, which performs more free and diversified photographing, and to provide an automatic photographing apparatus that has the auxiliary device. SOLUTION: The auxiliary device 40 for photography has faces 41a and 41b directed to the top of the photographing space 2 serving as placing parts 42, at a place higher than the floor surface of the photographing space 2 and facing. The faces 41a and 41b are the placing parts 42 where users can sit or join hands. There is a level difference M between the adjacent faces 41a and 41b with respect to the width direction L of the photographing space 2 and heights of the faces 41a and 41b from the floor surface of the photographing space 2 are different from each other.
