PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-rotation absolute angle detection mechanism capable of performing multi-rotation absolute angle detection with high accuracy. SOLUTION: This multi-rotation absolute angle detection mechanism A is equipped with: a deceleration mechanism 2 which decelerates rotation of a rotation body 30; a multi-rotation detection part 3 which detects rotation of an output part 7 of the deceleration mechanism 2; and a one-rotation detection part 18 which detects rotation of the rotation body 30. Parts 14, 19 to be detected of the multi-rotation detection part 3 and the one-rotation detection part 18 consist of magnetic encoders. A magnetic shield 27 is provided for shielding the influence of a leakage flux between the multi-rotation detection part 3 and the one-rotation detection part 18. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
