PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a driving feeling and comfort inside a vehicle room compatible with each other by estimating the intention of action of a driver at an early stage. SOLUTION: An air conditioner for a vehicle mounted on the vehicle of which the power source (4) is an engine or a motor controls air-conditioning equipment (100) for performing air conditioning inside the vehicle room. The air conditioner for the vehicle is provided with a means (54) of controlling air conditioning, means (35, 36) of detecting the action of the driver which detect the amount of operation of the driver, a means (52) of estimating the intention of the driving action, and a judgement means (53). The means (54) of controlling air conditioning controls the air-conditioning equipment (100), and controls the air-conditioning condition inside the vehicle room. Then the means (52) of estimating the intention of the driving action computes the information on the estimation of the intention of action, which estimates the driving action of the driver to be taken from now on, based on the detected information from the means (35, 36) of detecting the action of the driver. Then the judgement means (53) estimates the output condition of the power source (4) based on the information on the estimation of the intention of action, and gives instructions to the means (54) of controlling air conditioning in accordance with an estimated output condition.
