PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep an appropriate version of an operating system, virus detection software of a computer carried from the outside before permitting a node of the computer to communicate with a node of a network. SOLUTION: A monitoring apparatus 100 is placed in a broadcast domain of the Ethernet(R) and this monitoring apparatus monitors an ARP request from a device to be quarantined and replies an ARP response to that request, thereby accomplishing a quarantine network wherein only a communication with a specified device is permitted. Therefore, the monitoring apparatus can be accomplished by connecting the monitoring apparatus to each of broadcast domains of the Ethernet(R). COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
