PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiving and recording apparatus for recording a channel while displaying another channel among television signals received by one tuner. SOLUTION: A television receiving and recording apparatus comprises: a tuner 2 for tuning a reception channel to a predetermined channel; a CPU section 9 for switching the channel to which the reception channel is tuned by the tuner 2, between a plurality of different channels; a frame memory write address switcher 4 for writing image data received via the plurality of channels switched by the CPU section 9 into any one of frame memories 5-1, ..., 5-N and frame memories 5-2, ..., 5-N; a display section 8 for displaying the image data stored in the frame memories 5-1, ..., 5-N; and a recording section 8 for recording the image data stored in the frame memories 5-2, ..., 5-N.
