PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear-drive actuator for reliably braking rotation of a lead screw in a short time in the case when a movable body is moved beyond a specified range of movement. SOLUTION: The linear-drive actuator comprises the lead screw 6 rotatably supported by bearings 2, 4, and a nut 8 reciprocating along the lead screw by rotation of the screw. In the linear-drive device, rotational motion of the lead screw is transformed into linear motion of the moving body connected to the nut. A braking member 26 is provided so as not to be rotated relative to the lead screw. When the nut is moved beyond the tolerance to push the braking member 26, the outside perimeter (an annular braking part 26s) of the braking member is brought in sliding contact with the internal circumferential surface 16s of a through hole 16h formed in the bearing part to brake the leading screw.
