PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drying apparatus capable of preventing frost and ice from growing on the surface of a heat absorber. SOLUTION: The drying apparatus has a heat pump unit 29 constituted by connecting a compressor 41, a heat radiator 32 radiating the heat of a coolant compressed by the compressor 41, a squeezing means 43 for decompressing the high pressure by a tubular path 44 coolant, and heat absorber 30 taking heat from the surrounding by the coolant decompressed to be low pressure such that the coolant circulates, a rotary tank 5 for receiving clothes 4, a blower 12 supplying air heated by the heat radiator 32 inside of the rotary tank 5, and a circulation duct 34 for circulating the air in the rotary tank 5 to the heat radiator 32 through the heat absorber 30, the heat radiator 32 and heat absorber 30 are arranged in a circulation duct 34, and the drying device further has a heat absorber heating coolant circuit 42 for passing the coolant cooled by the heat radiator 32 through the part of the heat absorber 30 before entering the squeezing means 43 and can prevent the frost and ice generated in the heat absorber 30 from growing by the heat absorber heating coolant circuit 42 even though the outer temperature drops.
