THERAPEUTIC AGENT FOR CANCER COMPRISING POLYPEPTIDE CAPABLE OF INHIBITING THE FUNCTION OF SYNOVIOLIN AS ACTIVE INGREDIENT

<p>A p53-binding region in synoviolin protein is successfully identified. It is found that a partial polypeptide of synoviolin comprising the binding region has a function of competitively inhibiting the binding of synoviolin to p53 to activate p53. Further, it is also found that the inhibition of the function of synoviolin can induce the inhibition of the residence of p53 in a cytoplasm, the localization of p53 in the nucleus, the inhibition of the binding between synoviolin protein and p53 protein, the promotion of the phosphorylation of p53 protein and the inhibition of the ubiquitination of p53 protein. The partial peptide is useful as a p53 activator or a therapeutic agent for cancer.</p>
