<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to improve a color smear correction precision by surely performing the color smear correction and also to reduce toner amount and processing time used for a color smear correction processing. <P>SOLUTION: A pattern 20' comprising magenta and black patterns is formed on an intermediate transfer belt 3 by image forming units 10a and 10d, and the deviation of the image forming units 10a and 10d is measured based on the pattern 20' read by an optical sensor 5, then the color smear by all the image forming units 10a to 10d is corrected based on the measured deviation. A pattern 20 comprising patterns of all the colors is formed on the intermediate transfer belt 3 by all the image forming units 10a to 10d corrected in terms of the color smear, and the deviation of all the image forming units 10a to 10d is measured based on the pattern 20 read by the optical sensor 5, then the color smear by all the image forming units 10a to 10d is corrected based on the measured deviation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
