PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic element capable of improving DC superposition characteristics, and also, capable of achieving the progress of height reduction and the improvement in bonding strength, and to provide a method for manufacturing the magnetic element. SOLUTION: The magnetic element 10 is composed so as to have a first core member 20, which has a hollow part 22 surrounded by a frame-like part 21 and composed of a magnetic material; a second core member 30, which is arranged to the hollow part 22 and constituted of the magnetic material and whose one end and the other end are arranged facing the inner wall face of the hollow part 22, while respectively having a gap in-between the inner wall faces; and an air core coil 40 wound around the outer periphery of the second core member 30.
