PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent poor contact caused by variation of height of a pair of fixed contact points when a float leans and abuts on a side surface of a guide, and to prevent malfunction caused by sticking of the float by surface tension of an abutting part with the guide. SOLUTION: In this liquid level detection switch comprising the float provided in the rod-like guide by forming a space in the periphery with a center hole to be loosely fit to move up and down in the case, an electrode plate attached to a bottom surface of the float, and a pair of fixed contact points provided over both sides of the guide in the bottom part in the case, a taper whose diameter becomes smaller from bottom to top is provided in the guide or a taper whose diameter becomes larger from bottom to top is provided in the center hole, and the guide is formed cylindrical and the center hole of the float is formed polygonal or the center hole of the float is formed circle and the guide is formed polygonal.
