PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combined cycle device, and its control method provided with a refrigerating cycle and a Rankine cycle, and not needing an exclusive drive source for starting the Rankine cycle. SOLUTION: The combined cycle device has the refrigerating cycle 100A having a condenser 120A dissipating heat of a working fluid discharged from a compressor 110 and carrying out condensation liquefaction, and the Rankine cycle 100B having a heater 170 for heating the working fluid sent from a liquid pump 160, and an expander 180 for generating driving force by expansion of the vaporized working fluid sent out from the heater 170, and the liquid pump 160 is connected to the expander 180. A working fluid flow change-over means 200 is provided for allowing inflow of the working fluid discharged from the compressor 110 into the expander 180 at starting of the Rankine cycle 100B.
