PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a longer-life main shaft water sealing device for a water turbine, wherein end tooth bearing is prevented to hardly cause abnormal wear at an angled portion of a seal ring. SOLUTION: The device comprises a resin fixed side seal ring 11 supported on a water turbine inner cover 2 via a spring 15 and a metal rotary side seal ring 12 fixed to a water turbine runner 3. Seal water is supplied between the fixed side seal ring 11 and the rotary side seal ring 12 for water sealing. The fixed side seal ring 12 has at least two lines of sealing water supply annular grooves 11a, 11b provided in the sliding face with the rotary side seal ring 13 in concentric array. The seal water having pressure higher than water pressure on a water turbine driving water flow path side is supplied into the annular grooves. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
