PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a used fuel storage basket that utilizes a cake box structure that has lattice partitions and employs a continuous member extending to both ends in the radial direction of the storage basket, keeps a strength securing function, sub-criticality keeping function, and heat transfer function, and suppresses increases in weight and outer diameter of the storage basket. SOLUTION: In the used fuel storage basket, a plate material 6e that has a plurality of cut sections 61e, 61e, etc. on both sides of the long side in the longitudinal direction and has a heat transfer function, is stacked on a plate material 4e that has a plurality of cut sections 41e, 41e, etc. on both sides of the long side in the longitudinal direction, has the strength securing function and sub-criticality keeping function, and has part of the heat transfer function to form a plate as a unit. The formed plates are crossed and stacked in the axial direction of the fuel assembly, thereby forming a fuel assembly storage space 10.
