PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical seal device enabling the easy retraction of a sealing ring, preventing uneven abrasion from occurring on the sealing surface of the sealing ring, and effectively sealing a fluid to be sealed. SOLUTION: This mechanical seal device M comprises a first sealing ring 10, a first rubber elastic material annular gasket 8A fitted to the first sealing ring 10, a second rubber elastic material annular gasket 8B fitted to the mounting surface 60A of a seal housing 60, an annular partition part 2A adhered to the first annular gasket 8A and the second annular gasket 8B, a support part 2B supporting the rear surface 10B of the first sealing ring 10, and a holding ring 1 installed on the support part 10B and having an extraction tool 30 and an axially locked locking means 3. The extraction tool is locked to the holding ring 1 to which the first sealing ring 10 of the mechanical seal device is fitted to extract the holding ring 1 from the seal housing.
