PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder in which vibrations and load fluctuations are suppressed during formation of images and simultaneously, a storage space for storing an image forming medium can be reduced in size. SOLUTION: The image recorder is provided with: an image recording section which sequentially forms images on a paper P, while transporting the paper P by an exposure transport roller 9; a storage space S which is arranged at a transport downstream side from the image recording section and is for temporarily storing the paper P delivered by the exposure transport roller 9; a winding mechanism which is arranged in the storage space S and is for temporarily winding the paper P; and a drum rotation control means 44 which enables winding of the paper P in such a state that it is loosened, when it is wound by the winding mechanism. The winding mechanism is provided with: a winding drum 20; a press-contacting roller 21 which comes into press-contact with the paper P; and a guide plate 23 which guides the paper P delivered from the exposure transport roller 9 to the winding drum 20.
