PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer foil capable of being discriminated in its winding direction without lowering a yield. SOLUTION: In the transfer foil equipped with a plurality of transparent resin layers 6, which are formed on a base material in a peelable manner and of which the parts to be heated are peeled by heating to be transferred to the surface of a recording material and detection marks 7A and 7B for detecting the positions of the transparent resin layers 6, the detection marks 7A and 7B are marks different with respect to a plurality of the transparent resin layers 6 formed to the whole region in the width direction of the base material and at least one of them is a direction discriminating mark capable of discriminating the winding direction of the transfer foil.
