<p>The device has a cover (3) which partially covers a sensor arrangement. The cover partially transmits the signal received from the arrangement. An image processing unit such as camera (6) is provided for pictorial detection of environmental conditions of a motor vehicle. A heating mechanism comprising heating wires (4) is activated based on the detectable environmental conditions of the camera for heating the cover.
