A method for providing an automatic response service and a mobile terminal for executing the same are provided to offer an efficient automatic response service by making a called terminal transmit a response message, which explains that it is hard to respond to a call connection request from a calling terminal, according to a selective key input of the called terminal user. A mobile terminal(200), the first user terminal, comprises a user input part(210), a message storage part(220), a call control part(230), a display part(240), a message search part(250), and a message transmitting part(260). The user input part(210) is provided to input one or more response messages matched with numeric keys of the keypad of the first user terminal(200). The message storage part(220) stores and maintains response messages, inputted from the user input part(210), together with numeric keys. The call control part(230) receives a call connection request from the second user terminal. The display part(240) displays the call connection request. The message search part(250) searches a message storage part(220) and obtains a response message corresponding to a numeric key inputted through the user input part(210). The message transmitting part(260) transmits the searched and obtained response message to the second user terminal. |
