A method of manufacturing a weld nut which is not damaged in spite of tensile force or other external forces by allowing the weld nut to retain original mechanical properties of a workpiece itself in the manufacturing process, and a weld nut manufactured by the same are provided. As a method a manufacturing a weld nut comprising a flange part, a short-pipe shaped core part vertically projected from an approximately central portion of the flange part, and a female screw part formed on an inner side of the core part by using a metal strip, the method comprises: an outer wall notching process(S1) and a blanking process(S2) performed on the metal strip; drawing processes(S3-S8) gradually performed in multiple steps to continuously form a weld nut(10) in a semi-finished product state comprising a flange part(12) and a core part(14) with required dimensions; a piercing and embossing process(S9) of perforating the core part of the weld nut in the semi-finished product state adhered to the metal strip and forming welding protrusions(13) on the flange part at the same time; a trimming process(S11) of detaching the weld nut from the metal strip; and a screw processing process(S12) of forming a female screw(15) on an inner side of the trimmed core part.
