A mobile terminal having a target identifying function using an RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) and an image tag and its method are provided to allow a user to easily discriminate a target recognized by an RFID by outputting RFID recognition target information corresponding to a captured target image on a screen. A camera unit(110) captures an image of an image tag-attached target to generates an image. An image tag recognizing unit(120) recognizes image tag information from the captured image and outputs it. An RFID unit(130) extracts information of the target from an RFID signal transmitted from the target and outputs it. A recognized information comparing unit(140) compares information of the target recognized by the image tag recognizing unit(120) and the RFID unit(130), extracts corresponding target information, and outputs it. A display unit(130) arranges and displays the image captured by the camera unit(110), the information of the target recognized by the image tag recognizing unit(120) and the RFID unit(130), and the corresponding target information in a certain format.
